A pre-DEFSEC supplier event presented by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency & the Atlantic Canada Aerospace & Defence Association!
The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), with the support of the Atlantic Canada Aerospace and Defence Association (ACADA), cordially invites you to participate in an upcoming supplier engagement event with Saab as a pre-DEFSEC initiative.
Saab is a multinational defence and security company offering world-class products, services and solutions from military defence to civil security. Saab has customers in more than 100 countries and operates in 30, including three locations in Canada.
Saab designs, manufactures and maintains advanced systems in aeronautics, weapons, command and control, sensors, and underwater systems. These constitute areas where Saab has a world-leading position, strong support from customers, and where it looks to continuously invest to secure excellence in competence and future capabilities.
Company representatives will be presenting at the Halifax Convention Centre on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, to provide an overview of available opportunities and to meet one-on-one with Atlantic Canadian companies in the aerospace and defence sector. Saab will have representatives from a variety of organizations, including the Canadian offices and experts from focus areas tied to future programs such as Ground-Based Air Defence, Airborne Early Warning Aircraft, Canadian Patrol Submarine Project, and Weapons Effects Simulation Modernization.
The Saab team is interested in meeting companies in a broad range of technologies and services, including those with the following manufacturing and support capabilities:
• Sensor/instruments suppliers, including handling equipment and parts (eg cabling communications equipment, sonars, UW telephones, radar)
• Welding, compliance to ISO-EN 3834-2:
• Outfitting such as electrical installation according to ISO Standards and mechanical installations and assembling
• Assembly and build-to-print services:
• Military design/engineering services (with a specific focus on underwater related services)
• Laboratories to support research and development and testing activities (eg corrosion and tensile/impact testing
• Canadian-based training support, integration and simulation technical services and staffing

Des représentants d’entreprise présenteront des exposés au Centre des congrès d’Halifax le mardi 1er octobre 2024 pour donner un aperçu des possibilités actuelles et rencontrer individuellement des entreprises du Canada atlantique du secteur de l’aérospatiale et de la défense. Saab aura des représentants de diverses organisations, notamment des bureaux et experts canadiens de domaines d’intérêt liés à des programmes ultérieurs, comme la défense antiaérienne basée au sol, l’aéronef de détection aérienne avancée, le programme de sousmarins canadiens de patrouille et la modernisation du simulateur d’effets d’armes.
L’équipe Saab souhaite rencontrer des entreprises d’un vaste éventail de technologies et services, dont celles qui comptent les capacités de fabrication et d’appui suivantes:
• Fournisseurs de capteurs/instruments, notamment l’équipement de manutention et les pièces (p. ex. câbles, équipement de communication, sonars, téléphones de GNC, radar).
• Soudure conforme à ISO-EN 3834-2 : garantir des procédés de soudure de grande qualité, conformément aux normes internationales.
