Empowering SMEs to Scale, Export, and Innovate

The Atlantic Canada Aerospace & Defence Association (ACADA) is proud to lead a strategic initiative focused on improving access to capital for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Who should attend: Atlantic Canadian SMEs currently working within the defence sector, federal government representations (Industry & DND), venture capital organizations.

With close to 200 members, ACADA represents a regional cluster of SMEs that are globally competitive. They are a community of innovators, manufacturers, and exporters and are vital to building Canada’s defence capabilities and are active contributors to Allied supply chains.

Yet, access to capital remains one of the top challenges identified by these companies. This initiative aims to address that gap by:

  1. Creating a platform for dialogue between government, industry, and capital providers
  1. Showcasing Atlantic Canadian capabilities in marine, aerospace, cyber, and dual-use technologies
  1. Building relationships with venture capital groups that fund defence-related innovation
  1. Engaging federal partners to align financial programs with SME particularly as it relates to Canada’s new Defence Industrial Strategy

The Atlantic Region is the ideal environment for defence sector growth because of its strategic location, skilled workforce, and collaborative ecosystem. By unlocking capital access, we can accelerate innovation, job creation, and global competitiveness.

Join us in Halifax on September 29, 2025, as we bring together stakeholders to advance this mission.
